PIT®’s Guiding Principles

Collaboration…

PIT® teaches the value of overcoming the fear of competition and replacing it with the aspiration of benefiting one another. By leveraging our collective strengths, our community grows stronger and often “the lights pop on” for individuals. By harnessing the power of community, we interactively create a road map to re-employment, continually linking employers with you, the potential employees. Our method ensures better returns for everyone.

Exchanging Information…

One-to-one, you take your career to a whole new level by fostering new ideas, discovering new options, forging new friendships—all while capitalizing on a free-flow of information and perspectives. Overcoming uncertainties and drawing from the value of community experience and insight, much is learned and shared to great benefit. Interactions will teach you how to scrimp, barter good deals, cut wasteful practices, and think clearer. Also think “degrees of separation” where someone you are about to meet is only a degree or two away from where you want to be, and vice versa.

Fellowship Exchange…

Sometimes a fear of meeting new people, embracing new opportunities, can seem like a disaster. Creating a rich, symbiotic environment of support—built on emotional understanding, empathy, hope, even a few laughs—serves to accelerate your job search efforts and help overcome the emotional up’s and down’s of job loss. There’s great strength in building rapport and interacting with others who care when choosing an occupation with meaning.

Confidentiality…

Be assured who you are and what you share—your struggles, your aspirations, your conversations—are all “safe” at PIT®. The emotional impact of unemployment experiences often leaves us feeling vulnerable and violated. PIT® participants’ critically respect the need for total privacy for all subscribers and meeting attendees.

Integrity…your creativity and genuine

Feedback, portrayed with sensitivity to others and offered with a kindness and adherence to the PIT® Mission Statement and these Guiding Principles, are the foundation that binds us together for a promising future.

Trust…

In creating a sensitive and secure atmosphere—a “safe space”—to address the emotional and cognitive complexities of unemployment and underemployment, trust is a critical “give and take” by each member.

Responsibility…

Re-employment is fully a personal responsibility and requires a highly proactive job search effort. As a community, we have a responsibility to do all we can to help you solve your workforce needs with added support and encouragement. And never forget, unemployment is always a temporary situation.

Non-Judgmental…

PIT® welcomes and accepts everyone, wherever they may be at in their quest for re-employment. Meetings, support, resources and meetings are open to any downsized or under-employed employee actively seeking re-employment or a new career.
